Pattern: Ozark Clutch Bag


MATERIALS:
1 skein Ozark Handspun yarn
1 skein of color A worsted weight, 100% wool yarn
2 skeins of color B worsted weight, 100% wool yarn
1 pair US Size 13 circular needles
1 pair US Size 11 needles
1 Magnetic clasp
2 Stitch markers

GAUGE: It is not important when knitting this bag.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Purse: With 2 strands of yarn A, CO 90 sts.
Join in the round.
Place stitch marker on 1st and 45 stitch.
Knit 1 round.
Purl 1 round.
Knit 1 round.
Purl 1 round.
Handles: One row buttonhole stitch.
K 10.
BO 25 sts and needle CO 26 sts.
Slip the first stitch from the left needle and pass the extra cast on stitch over it to close the handle.
K 20.
BO 25 sts and CO 26 sts.
Slip the first stitch from the left needle and pass the extra casdt on stitch over it to close the handle.
K 10.
Purl 1 round.
Knit 1 round.
Cut one strand of wool and add Ozark Handspun yarn.
Purl 4 rounds.
Cut Ozark Handspun yarn and yarn A.
Add 2 strands of yrn B. Knit with B for 10 inches.
*At 1st marker, K2tog, Knit to other marker, K2tog, Knit to finish round. Knit 2 rows.
*Repeat 2 more times.
Last row: At marker, k2tog, knot to other marker, k2tog, knit to finish round.
Turn bag inside out.
Finish with 3 needle BO.
Flap: Using yarn A, PU 15 stitches from center back.
Knit 11 rows.
Row 12: K2tog, K11, K2tog.
Row 13: Knit.
Row 14: k2tog, K9, K2tog.
Row 15: Knit.
Row 16: BO.
Rose: CO 10 sts Ozark Handspun yarn.
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Cut Ozark yarn and add 2 strands yarn B.
Rows 3: Knit into front and back of st, of all the stitches.
Row 4: Knit.
Row 5: Knit into front and back of st, of all the stitches.
Row 6: Knit.
Row 7: Knit into front and back of st, of all the stitches.
Row 8: Knit.
Row 9: BO.

Machine felt bag and rose: Place bag and rose in washing machine along with two old towels or a pair of jeans. Set machine to hot/cold. Add detergent. Run bag through entire cycle. Bag should shrink about 40% of the original size. Sometimes bag may need to go through the cycle again. Once it has shrunk to the desired size, shape bag and let dry. Add magnetic clasp. Sew rose to flap covering top of magnetic clasp.

Pattern: Ozark Stole

MATERIALS:
4-5 skeins Ozark Handspun in different coordinating colors
1 pair Size US 35 knitting needles
1 pair Size 19 knitting needles

DIRECTIONS:
Using size 35 needles, cast on 60 loose stitches. Leave an 8-10 inch fringe.
Change color. Start with 8-10 inch fringe. Seed stitch or garter stitch (your preference) entire row. Leave an 8-10 inch fringe.
Break yarn.
Repeat with different colors until all have been used.
Repeat the color pattern 4-5 times.
With size 19 knitting needles, cast off tightly. This creates a neckline.
Tie off all fringe.
