Carry along Manos del Uruguay, Knit 4 rows. Repeat from * until you have created a piece which goes around your body comfortably. Bind off loosely on Ozark Handspun row. Fold body rectangle in half in direction of stripes created. Mark center, set aside.
Back yoke: Using Ozark Handspun and US Size 17 needles, cast on 32 stitches. Knit 12 rows. Bind off. Fold back yoke in half, matching up center of body with center of yoke and attach.
FINISHING: Drape Ozark Handspun Mane around neck to create front panels, attaching the mane to back yoke and to front edges of body, adjusting as needed for good fit. Once you are satisfied, fill in any gaps using Ozark Handspun with single crochet stitch.
Now, finish front edges with Ozark Handspun using double crochet along body. Crochet into mane with single crochet around mane. (You may need to switch to a smaller hook or use knitting needle to create holes for stitches.)
Fill in armhole openings using Ozark Handspun and single crochet.
Attach button of choice to left front, positioning as desired. To create buttonhole loop, attach Manos del Uruguay to front edge. Chain appropriate length for button size. Attach to edge, creating loop. Now, single crochet over chain stitches. Fasten off.
